  1. Again sorry for my lack of Spanish first of all!

One must feel for Carlos Alarcón as to decide on four referees for the semifinals was an uneviable task following the Copa America. The two referees who came out of it best, Roldan & Fedorczuk are appointed predictably. Maura Vigliano is also a good appointment to my mind, only a first leg because politically with Boca in the semifinal it would be impossible to give have a second leg. Polic to me is an interesting one, surely if it weren't for the presence of Atlético Nacional, Roldan would lead a second leg. According to your (fantastic!) ranking he is the third least experienced referee belonging to the Elite Category. An 7.9 (8.4) in the Round of 16 is no bad showing. But, of course nothing against Polic and of course I wish him the complete best of luck in Medellín, but he is hardly leading the Elite category. Of course BRA,ARG,ECU,COL have a large number of the best elite referees and of course there must be two referees saved for the final. But surely it shows the not fantastic state of CONMEBOL at the current moment.
More than anything I really hope the repute of of South American refereeing goes up especially after the final of Lopes. One can be sure he is not a name for the final.
Best wishes to all four quartets!
